Waxing experience can be really intimidating at first and at Stay Ready Skin we're here to help you feel comfortable and confident through your entire hair removal service. In order to help you have a good experience we use hypoallergenic waxes, choose wax type and prepare your skin based on your specific skin type and the area we're waxing. This helps to keep you stay as comfortable as possible while getting you the hair-free results you're looking for.
Ingrown hairs are a common side effect of hair removal especially early on in your waxing journey which is why every waxing service comes with ingrown hair removal as a default. It's especially common for people who struggle with skin picking to make sure that these are removed to avoid further triggers for picking or damage to the skin. As an appointment add on you can pair any hair removal service with a post-wax treatment where the area will be further treated with calming products, pigment reducing ingredients and soothing post-wax care to get even more out of your experience.
You’ll leave with simple, personalized aftercare recommendations to help get you the best results and prepare your skin for your next wax appointment.

Generally your hair needs to be about the length of a grain of rice or longer in order to get waxed. For most people this is usually between 3-6 weeks of hair growth with no other hair removal in between.
It is not recommended that you do any other kind of hair removal in between waxes. In order to get the best results waxing needs to be done at a regular interval in order to get the hair growing at the same rate, waxing, laser, nair, or other hair removal in between your waxes will set your progress back and will cause more hair to be left behind during waxes.
Being nervous before your first wax especially in an intimate area is totally normal and something Kira is well equipped to help you through. All waxes come with some degree of discomfort but Kira will do her best to keep you comfortable and confident throughout the service. Book the full Brazillian and we can scale back to a bikini wax if needed.
For first time Brazilian clients extra time is taken to talk you through the strips we will do, what to expect, and your options in case you feel you cant complete the service, we can always start with a bikini wax, see how you're feeling and then either stop the service there or move through the full Brazilian. The goal when getting waxed here isn't speed its comfort and skin health.
Even though a full body skincare routine is rare it's important to keep your skincare simple on the area you'll have waxed. This means no active ingredients like, AHA's, BHAs, enzyme exfoliants or anti-aging ingredients in the waxed area for 2 days prior. It is recommended that you exfoliate gently 2 days prior to your wax.
ALL Retinoids including tretinoin, adapalene, retinal, retinyl, retinol MUST be stopped a minimum of 7 days prior to your treatment. Using a retinoid in this window is HIGHLY LIKELY to lead to skin tears and potentially permanent damage to the area waxed - do not risk it!
Unfortunately no. It is for your safety that we will have to refuse service because waxing can cause extreme and lasting damage to the skin when done on someone who has taken isotretinoin. You must have stopped isotretinoin aka Accutane for at least one year prior to getting waxed. Other hair removal methods are recommended.
After every treatment Kira will give you a run down of recommended after care based on the service you received, it's best to follow those recommendations closely because they will be tailored specifically to you. In general it is recommended that you do not touch the area with unwashed hands for 24-48 hours following your wax. use gentle scent free cleansers and a scent free lotion for 24-48 hours following your wax. Gentle exfoliation is required to prevent ingrown hairs from forming, but are a potential side effect of waxing regardless. It is recommended to exfoliate every 3 days for the first week following a wax and at least twice per week thereafter. If you have any reactions or concerns following your treatment please reach out directly to Kira at the contact information provided at the end of your service.
For Soft wax we use Satin Smooth Zinc Oxide wax and for Hard wax we use Waxness Sensi-clear. The type of wax used is dependent on the service booked, location of the wax, and what your skin can handle.
Comfy loose clothes are always recommended to prevent irritation! Sweatpants, loose leggings, joggers, linen pants or other comfortable loose fitting clothes are common choices. Clean spa robes are always provided to you so you feel covered and comfortable regardless of what you're wearing. Kira will also use towels, sheets or other cloth products to drape over intimate areas or to protect your clothing during waxes.

Additionally, Kira has added sound dampeners and white noise machines in the treatment room to help you relax without disruptive background noise.
